Another jobs report was released to the nation this morning and it doesn't encourage. The unemployment rate in the U.S. continues to remain high, 9.6% for September. In that month, the economy lost 95,000 jobs according to the report.
To look at this another way: nearly 15 million are unemployed and looking for jobs.
I do see encouraging news here at LeTourneau University however. Some of the world's greatest companies are coming to campus this fall to interview LETU students. Here are a few of the employers here this fall to recruit our students:
Caterpillar, John Deere, EOG Resources, Energy Future Holdings, Lincoln Electric, Rockwell Collins, National Oilwell Varco.
In my last blog entry, I pointed to data that demonstrates a college degree is more important than ever. The unemployment rate for those without a college degree is double the rate for those who have earned a degree. College remains a meaningful investment.
